I'm shocked. I heard the news during summer school from Janice, and I'm still in shock. After reading the Soompi Super Junior forum, this huge feeling of compassion flooded over me. While reading what one of the Korean fans said on Bestiz, I started to tear up. I don't know what it is about the Super Junior and TVXQ boys that makes me so attached to them. It's like they're a part of me, and to hear that Donghae's father passed away is as if a close friend's father passed away. The worst way to leave someone is to leave them with regret. Donghae hadn't seen his parents in 6 years and started to tear up on Full House while talking about it. Even when Suju won their first Mutizen Award, while he was crying he wished his father to be healthy. He and his father were extremely close, and that's what breaks my heart. His father wanted to be a singer too, but his father (Donghae's grandfather) wouldn't let him, so he was more than happy when Donghae wanted to become a singer. The thing I am relieved about is that he passed away after he was able to witness Donghae's success. I'm sure he's looking down on Donghae with so much pride. What hurts me the most is that Donghae was not able to be with his father when he passed away, and I'm sure he's taking it HARD. What makes it worse is that anti fans were celebrating his dads death on 텔존 (a Korean bbs where a lot of antis talk crap) and fans started screaming, "Oppa! Oppa!" when Donghae arrived for his dad's Wake. I'm absolutely shocked at the heartlessness of some antis. It doesn't matter if you're an anti or not, but there's a fine line between being an anti and being absolutely inhuman. Celebrating because of his father's death? These antis seriously need to grow up. You can hate a celebrity all you want, but when you celebrate his/her loved one's death....That's just seriously...Cruel. How can you do that? Do they feel good with themselves after celebrating? Don't they even have emotions? Can't they feel remorse? For God's sakes! These type of people are the ones that need to be eliminated from the face of this earth. I'm sure all of us have hated people, and even with a passion, but REJOICING about their loved one's death is a line that no one should cross. The event resembles that of when Seo Jaeho had a funeral, and TVXQ fans (antis of Seo Jaeho) came to his funeral saying it was his fault that the TVXQ boys got hurt. (There was a car accident between him and the TVXQ boys). THE MAN DIED AND THE FANS GO TO HIS FREAKING FUNERAL TO SAY IT WAS HIS FAULT THAT THE BOYS GOT HURT. That to me, is immaturity and the inability to understand human emotion. Just like Heechul said, fans need to KNOW WHERE THEY ARE BEFORE THEY ACT. Some fans leave me utterly speechless. Especially some TVXQ and Suju fans, because they seem the most extreme. Yehsung got a shoe thrown at his eye, Kibum hurt his arm, and Donghae broke his arm due to f-ing psycho fans that want to grope them. TVXQ boys getting clawed and pushed down, and hitting Yunho's legs when his ligaments were ruptured. This to me, is something I can never understand. Hurting the ones you love, just so you can touch them. That's RIDICULOUS, and should not go unpunished. Now I know why the managers slap and kick the fans. If I were their manager I would do worse than that. Fans and media should be banned from funerals...It's invading their right as a human being to have privacy. Some Korean fans irritate me. Mostly because they're all younger girls in middle school, and for some strange reason have not matured enough to understand that these boys are not GODS, but they are freaking human beings with emotions and should be treated as such. The older fans are better able to understand and sympathize with such traumatic events. I understand that they might be excited to be seeing their favorite celebrity, but in an environment such as a funeral? That's ridiculous, and even at airports. ANYTHING that makes the boys uncomfortable should NOT be done, such as running and screaming at them or grabbing them at airports or anywhere in general. There's good and bad sides of being a TVXQ fan. They are extremely passionate and kind when they want to, but they are definitely the most f-ing psycho. The reason why so many people don't like TVXQ fans, is because they're so immature. They start BASHING on someone that doesn't like TVXQ. I'm not saying ALL of TVXQ fans are like this, but many are. I mean, I see a lot of people on youtube who don't like TVXQ because they like H.O.T, and think that they're trying to replace H.O.T. and I'm fine with that. I mean, I'd be angry, but I wouldn't go calling her a b*tch or start bashing H.O.T just because she doesn't like TVXQ. I'm sure she'd start liking them after she started seeing how their personalities are like, but if she doesn't want to, then I'm fine with that too. If I were just an outsider, I'd probably dislike TVXQ if I were to solely base it on some of the actions of certain fans. I'm sure there are a lot of sane ones who respect other artists as well as TVXQ, but there are so many more that seriously need reality checks. They are the fans who should not be considered fans. If you can't be considerate of who you're supporting, then you might as well not support them at all. Antis are a whole other topic that I'd rather not get into..All I can say is that they don't have souls or human capacities to understand other people's pain. It's mind blowing.
Donghae, be strong. It's good that he has the other members of Suju who love him very much. I hope SM postpones all of the activities he's in so he can be given time to mourn. He is seriously one of the most adorable boys in Suju, and just thinking about him....being devastated just breaks my heart. I wish him well, and the strength to pull through such a tragic event.
To the fans who disrespected his privacy:
이봐요. 당신들 팬맞습니까?!

삼가 고인의 명복을 빕니다....동해 오빠....울지 말고..힘내...제발.

마음이 진짜...아프다..

Katie, why must you write about Dongahe in such a way that makes my heart break :( It's true for me too..I usually never feel this empathetic towards "famous people", but this is different. How on earth can anti-fans find humor in Donghae's loss? I really, truly feel for him. A tragic event like this can really change a person's perspective on life; I truly hope he can still hold on to his innocence, passion for music/dance, and most importantly, child-like carefreeness after this.
